A belated Happy new Year though to some, January 1st may seem like a couple of months ago already. We wanted to provide a quick update on how we Make a Difference in the communities we serve.

Make a Difference:

We closed 2013 on a high note with two large events.

1. Alzheimer Society Coffee Break fundraiser:
iCare Home Health was pleased to support the Alzheimer Societies of Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, and Hamilton-Halton by booking the Town of Oakville Town Square; and in collaboration with The Green Bean, Grigorian Music and Classic Gourmet Coffee, the iCare HH team served free coffee in exchange for a donation to support the society. Here are some pictures posted on our facebook page http://buff.ly/LWF76z

2. Elder Abuse Workshop Series:
A very sensitive topic, Elder Abuse workshop series covered different topics with speakers from Halton and Peel regions police, Credit Valley Hospital and the CCAC. It was informative and educational for the approximately 150 attendees who took part. iCare HH donated 3000 AIR MILES Reward Miles towards one long haul return trip for a lucky senior. Ballots were handed out on a one ballot per person/ workshop for a maximum of four chances to win per person. http://buff.ly/1eflA7I

Make a Difference:

We started 2014 by sponsoring the Halton Healthcare NICHE (Nurses Improving Care of Healthsystem Elders) Stellar Award Luncheon celebration.
It was especially sweet as the Seniors Waist Pack program funded by iCare HH was showcased to attending nurses as one of the first projects of the NICHE program. The program and award cover Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, Milton District Hospital and Georgetown Hospital. http://buff.ly/1g2vRee For information on the program, please contact us.

Social Work Week 2014:
The theme of the upcoming Social Work Week 2014, which is being celebrated during March 3-9, is: “Social Workers, Champions of Positive Change”.
If you’re planning an event and looking for sponsors, please contact us.

Upcoming Events Sponsorships:
As you plan your 2014 events whether it’s staff or client appreciation, BBQs, Nurses week, or others, we’d love help support it and if possible, take part. Be it an item for the gift table or food, drinks or dessert…. We’d love to hear from you.
