Seniors’ Month Keynote Address

June is Seniors’ Month in Ontario, and it is a time for seniors, friends, families, and your local community to join in and celebrate! This is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of seniors, their contributions, experience, wisdom and to be an inspiration for upcoming generations.
iCare Home Health Services is proud to support Seniors’ Month 2013 by sponsoring a Public Speaking event at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
The event’s keynote speaker is a distinguished proponent of Human Rights, Dr. Evelyn Kallen, Ph.D., F.R.S.C., Professor Emeritus of Social Science and Anthropology-York University. Learn more about Dr. Evelyn Kallen here.
Dr. Kallen will be speaking on the “Rights of Seniors and Persons with Disabilities”. An authority on Human rights, Dr. Kallen is a very active in her senior years. Most recent activities for Dr. Kallen are:
- Presentation of a paper at the Canadian Anthropology Association Conference at the University of Victoria, BC, on the Contribution of anthropology to international human rights. (May 2013)
- Presentation of lectures on seniors and disability rights issues in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) community (June 2013)
- Participation in a round table discussion of international human rights at York University conference (June 2013)
The keynote address will be held on June 10, 2013 starting at 12:00 noon and will be followed by a question and answer period for an opportunity to engage with Dr. Kallen. The event is held at the Auditorium of the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Seating is limited.
